What Is The Best Way To Learn Online Marketing?

When I first started learning about online marketing, I was pretty confused about where to start and what to do in order to practice it in a proper way. I tried many ways to attain some clients to practice the things on their sites, but of course, no one wants to pay someone for learning.

The best way that I figured out was to start doing something for myself. So, I started my own website, created its social media handles, managed its presence in the relevant communities, and boom! Within a month, I got the mark of 8500 fans on Facebook along with a list of continually growing newsletter subscribers.

No matter what medium you’re using to learn marketing, you always have to practice the things because, without the proper experience, all strategies are just theories.

All you need is to buy a domain and hosting and set up WordPress on it, which is super easy nowadays because most of the hosting companies now offer a one-click installation of WordPress.

What skills you’ll learn during the process?

  • Setting up domain and Hosting
  • Installing WordPress
  • Customization of WordPress site
  • Social Media Management
  • Search Engine Optimization

and if you want to go the extra mile to promote your website on paid promotions, you can also learn about Search engine marketing and Social Media Marketing which nowadays are one of the top-selling skills.

I have just added a few broad terms but when you’ll do the process yourself, you’ll surely learn a lot of other skills and guess what? You’re going to learn all this without the fear of damaging someone else’s site because the sole purpose of this website creation was to learn online marketing. Once you’ve mastered a few skills you can always go to an advanced level and start showing your website as your portfolio (If you want to work for the clients).

This is very similar to how I started out. The best way to learn is to just do it. And it really doesn’t cost much. $10 for a domain and maybe $50 for a year of hosting… Thanks for sharing your story!

Yes, I agree, learning by doing it helps in mastering so many miscellaneous aspects which usually gets missing while learning through any program or professional course.

Also, a tip, while buying hosting and domain services, buying long term bundles are more price-effective and helps you save a lot of money compared to monthly plans.

Yes. Great advice. Always buy long term bundles when you can. One technique I use is to buy one month at the regularly monthly price just to be sure the service is what I need. Then I’ll upgrade to the annual bundle to save money.

Yes, Tim, Thanks for adding another great point, it is very important. in fact, it is always good to ask for a 14 days(2weeks) demo to find out if the tool suffices your needs before you invest in it! 🙂
