How Long Should a Blog Post Be?

I see many new bloggers/website owners on YouTube lives and forums ask…How long should a blog post/article be? The answer to this is that it depends.

In this article, I am going to share with you my experience when writing blog posts/articles. I see many people always asking how long should a blog post be? My answer to this is… it all depends on what you are writing about. Many bloggers aim for 2000+ words, they say the more words that you use the better which can be true but some subjects or questions can be answered in just a few words.

For example, if you were writing an article about, what temperature is the boiling point for water?

You would not be able to answer this with 2000+ words, an article like this would only take 100 words or less to answer.

I have been writing a lot of product reviews for my niche site and they all have only 600-800 words in them and they are ranking just as fast as my… How To articles which are 2000+ words.

I find that Google seems to favourite websites more that get straight to the point and answer the question the visitor wants to know.

My thoughts on this are, shorter articles can rank just as good and fast as long-form articles.  When I research my competitors, if I think their article has a lot of fluff in it, I will write mine better but sometimes a lot shorter and I still seem to rank above them.

I hope that people find this useful, what’s other peoples views on this? Please say in the comment section below.
